To activate Suomi.fi Messages for the first time in a computer or mobile device browser, follow the steps listed below:

Step 1: Identification

Start the activation by identifying yourself. You can find the "Identification" button on

Step 2: Consent to using Suomi.fi Messages

After identification, move to the Messages page if you did not do so in the previous step. The page displays the text "You have not activated Suomi.fi Messages".

  • Click the button "Activate Suomi.fi Messages"

You will be directed to a page where you are asked to give

  • your consent to using Suomi.fi Messages
  • your email address that does not contain any special Nordic characters
  • the language in which you would like to receive the email notifications of new incoming messages in Suomi.fi Messages.

During the activation, you will receive a confirmation message to the email  address that you have given. In the future, this email address will be  used to notify you of messages received in Suomi.fi Messages.

Step 3: Confirming the email address

You will receive a confirmation message from noreply@suomi.fi to the email address you entered. To confirm your email address, go to  the Suomi.fi Web Service and enter the six-digit verification code you  received in the message.

Note that the verification code is valid for half an hour. If you do not make the confirmation by the deadline, start the Suomi.fi Messages activation again. You cannot activate Suomi.fi Messages without confirming your email address.

If the previous steps have been done in the Tax Administration's MyTax  service, the email address is confirmed by clicking a link in the  confirmation message instead.

Step 4: Activation completed

You will receive the following message to your email: "Welcome to Suomi.fi Messages". The message is sent from noreply@suomi.fi.

You can now start using Suomi.fi Messages and from now on, you will receive messages in electronic format from those organisations that use the  service.
